BagAssist BDS (Courier companies)
The courier company is the final actor of the lost baggage incident, and plays a very important role as it interacts with the passenger (phone, bag delivery) and retains latest baggage status without opportunity to return it to WorldTracer. BagAssist BDS is the final piece of the puzzle that fills this gap.
For the airline or handler, once the baggage has been given to a courier company (that organises the final delivery with the passenger or not), the baggage journey returns into darkness again. The courier company has its own system of course but no transparency is available on that system neither for the handling agent, nor the airline, nor the passenger that can get a wrong status on internet as it is no more kept up-to-date. This mainly because the courier companies are not WorldTracer management members and therefore do not have rights to update baggage file status.
BagAssist BDS solves this situation by bringing added value to all actors:
- for the courier company with a simple tool to scan and update baggage information with latest status in the WorldTracer file, with a tool to call the passengers, prepare delivery and print baggage label and delivery document, eventually update contact information in the WorldTracer file and update the BDO, receive the BDOs in advance and anticipate workload;
- for the handler and airline by having baggage file status updated with latest and accurate information, bringing transparency and control on the process, insurance that the passenger will receive professional documents upon delivery,
- for the passenger that will always receive accurate information about file incident and receive professional documents when the baggage is delivered.
